Jointly organised by Temasek Defence Systems Institute and Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, National University of Singapore, the GiST Series aim to elevate interest in practitioners to solve problems at a higher plane. These workshops enable participants to meet and engage with leading experts in the field of systems thinking.
The inaugural 2-day workshop on 22-23 November will be led by the world-renowned and widely sought-after Professor Heinz Stoewer, President of Space Associates GmbH and former President of the International Council on Systems Engineering. Professor Stoewer has extensive experience in aerospace systems thinking and systems engineering and has worked in various systems, project and management positions in the German and US aviation industries such as Bolkow/EADS and Boeing/MDAC since 1962. In conjunction to the GiST Series, Temasek Defence Systems Institute and International Council on Systems Engineering Singapore Chapter are jointly organising the Systems Engineering Essay Competition that opens from 15 July to 15 October 2012.
This essay competition is aimed at raising the profile of systems engineering in Singapore and to encourage both working professionals and students to explore and expound on a wide range of its application in Singapore’s context.
